Lincoln MarkLT

Have any of you seen the Lincoln MarkLT? It just looks like a fancy f-150 to me ... what do you all think of it? Does this mean there is gonna be guys in lincolns at the bar picking up girls?

Frankly, I think the LT is a joke, but for different reasons than the blackwood was. This truck is the same as the lariat or KR except for extra chrome and different leather.

I stopped and looked at the Mark LT last weekend. It looks almost identical as my new Lariat, except a little more chrome.I could not see the $8000 extra cost.I just could not find $8000 worth of chrome.

theres alot more to it than just the chrome. the suspension parts make for a btter ride and, it prolly rides more like a car. i have not got a chance to read much about them but they are on lincolns website with more info there. you can even build your own.

Yes, you even get a chromed PLASTIC grille.I am sure it has a better ride with the FORD F150's suspension. The gear shifter IS leather wrapped!

I really don't have an opinion of it, other than I think it'll sell. There's a lot of Escalades out there looking for garage-mates.

It's nothing I would want, but its a nice looking truck. A lot better then the Blackwood.

The Mark LT has to be the nicest/sharpest assembly line production pickup I have ever seen.I think they will sell very well.As a Fo.Mo.Co. stock/shareholder I sure hope so.

Ruckus- I think you're right there. Whether it's worth the extra money is up to the individual, but I line up behind a row of Escalades, Navi's, and H2's when I drop off my kids at school every morning- somebody's gonna buy that thing!

DukedoutF150, Hey now, not all grilles are made the same.I think the new 2006 International 9000 Turbo Thrust six door pickup comes with a 24K gold grille straight from the factory!I'm not talking any aftermarket stuff here.

ford has this crazy idea that making another luxury truck it will do well... you know, like the blackwood. they think there is a market for it now cus the escalade ext did so well... what they fail to realize is that the ext is an SUV-based truck. aimed at people who want an SUV but need the open bed. the LT is a truck-based truck. people who really need the truck will most likely buy the F-150. there will be a few people out there who want to "scream look at me!"

the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results... this my friends is Ford's version of insanity.

I priced one out comparable to a 150 Lariat SuperCrew I have on the lot. It was $4300 more. There are no mechanical differences between a 150 and the Mark LT; same suspension, engine, tranny, seats, etc... You are defintiely paying $4300 more for a different grille and tail lights, and some extra chrome on the rocker panels, and you can order chrome bed rails that aren't available on the 150. Why didn't they use the interior from the Navigator? Totally different from the Expedition, and it looks like a million bucks (I'd spend the extra money if it at least LOOKED more expensive). And personally, I don't think the extra chrome is well done; it looks like they drove a 150 through a JC Whitney catalog. If you're foolish enough to spend the extra money for an Escalade, then the Mark LT may be right up your alley.
