Install temp guage

what would I need to do to install a temp gauge in my 2001 f250sd v10 transmission. Would I have to drill a hole in the transmission or is there a sensor from the factory there I could connect to.

You could put one in the pan without much problem. Or install a "T" fitting in a cooler line.

Or use the test port. It's on the driver's side of the trans, near the front, just above the pan. THere is a black hex head plug in there now. Remove the plug and instal the sender. It's that easy.
