It depends on what the code is. It might take that long for it to register from the computer.

It's just the way it works. We have a truck at work that has a lean code (it is a 1991 F350). Sometimes the light doesn't come on and sometimes it comes on witin 5 minutes.

Just wait for it to come on then drive to AutoZone and they will scna it for free. We can't really help you anymore until you know what the code means. Good luck!
