ford molded mudflaps, probs?
Just picked up my 2005 xlt scab a few days ago and I want to put some mudflaps on immediately. I tried the search options and I seen people have had problems getting the molded mudflaps to fit correctly. I want to get some that I do not have to drill any holes. Can I get them from the dealer or is there a better place to get them. Is it possible to get some kind without drilling?
All help appreciated.
Thanks guys

I got mine from the dealer (2004 FX4 Flareside w/ black tubular step bars) and had one hole on each of the rear flaps that was not located correctly. Simple matter of drilling the flap, NOT the fender!! Other than that, they fit good and function well...no more ice and slush on the steps, or salt spray on the doors and tail. (REALLY need Spring to come soon!).
I would have prefered to get aftermarket w/ blue Ford logos (mine are just molded in black on the rears only), but couldn't find a source.

I picked up a set of the Molded Ford Mudflaps on E-bay last year for $25...brand new in the sealed bag......had the same experience with having to redrill 1 hole in each of the flaps, but the install was relatively painless and the look and function great.
Be careful to order the right ones, as some trucks have the wheel lip mouldings and some do not...that could be the reason there are lots of fit problems. The FX-4 has them, and I got the right ones, and there were no fit problems.

I installed molded on my 04 Lariat (w/wheel lips) and they looked terrible because of wheel lips.I took them back and bought flat Ford ABS w/logo.I ended up drilling 3 holes in each ABS flap and using stainless screws.I also put silicone caulking in each hole before installing stainless screws.I am hoping the silicone will prevent rust. The ABS flaps look much better. If you have never installed flat ABS before, I will tell you they are a pain to get perfectly straight and level but look great in my opinion.Good Luck!

I had a heck of a time with my flaps, when i received my truck nothing was out on the market yet so i did some searching and found them on the Ford site. upon receiving them they didn't work with running boards so i had to send them back. I called all around town and found some made by Husky. they work and look great. i had to do some drilling though. i don't know of any kind that doesn't require any drilling
