Transmission Bump
Ok,
I have this A4LD tran that I rebuilt. Was working great. Then I pulled it out when I had to rebuilt the 3.0 Engine. When I put the trans back in, it now jumps into gear when put into drive. Doesn't do it in reverse. Checked all the connections and driveline, everything looks OK.
I don't understand what could of changed on it when all that was done was pull it out, sit it on the ground, then put back in when the engine was done being rebuilt.
Any Help would be great.

Puzzling problem!!!! Low fluid? Linkage problem? Ask your wife to go through the gears and feel the linkage to see if it is at the proper detents.
I don't think it's the modulator vacuum line, but it wouldn't hurt to check that and the electrical connections. The A4LD has an electrical connection for the solenoids. Other than that, I have no idea why it would work before and not now.
I think it's most likely a linkage problem, however.

A while back I wrote in about that the ony thing that was really talked about was that a mount was bad a tranny could lift up and down and make kind of a thud,clunk,my 93 does it all the time.I have even changed trans and it still does it.
