Hi, am looking to buy a compressor mostly for working on my junk. I'm never in a real hurry but age tells me that hand tools are a drag. Does anyone have an opinion on what to buy? Any brands to avoid, etc. Thanx Iain.
I have a Craftsman 30 gal 6hp upright air compressor which I have been using for the past 5 years. No issues with it and it has come in very handy. Beats cussing at those old rusted bolts. I spent about $300 for it, including some tools.
One of the best buys, and for anyone that has a garage, this is a must have.
I have a much smaller 4 Gallon Coleman Compressor I got for about $120 I originally bought it mainly for my cars tires and to inflate things.
The pump going on all the time is a real pain when I use it with air tools so I will be upgrading soon. I would recommend at least a 30 gallon so this happens less frequently when using tools.
Also be sure that the air tools cfm @ the specified PSI usually 90 matches with your compressors cfm at that pressure or your tools will not work properly or will bog down hampering their operation.
