Hello, I have an 2002 f-250 crew cab 6.5 bed. I installed a 4" exhaust all the back I am running the diablo predator with the 65h or 85hp when I get on it on the long runs on the parkway on the 85hp settings the pyrometer runs up to 1100 f . I would like to find a way to keep the temp down, diffrent intercooler anything if you have any suggestions I would greatly appericate it. Also I need to figure something out for the tranny with the 100hp need to maybe get a new valve body. Thanks bill...
I had the exact setup that you have. My suggestion is to get a new chip. I tried all the air flow related mods and nothing would get the temps down where I wanted them. I sent the Predator back twice for code flashes and it never resolved my issues.
I recently put in a Jody Tipton custom chip and it made a world of difference. More/smoother power and lower temps on every setting. We tried doing some tranny stuff w. the tune, but it never behaved the same way twice. i sent the chip back to jody and he removed all the tranny settings. I put in a sonnax valve and springs and am happy w/ the way it shifts now. Nice and firm, but definitely not harsh.
I had several posts out there a year or so ago about high temps w/ the Predator. I finally broke down and bought a chip on someone's advice and I kick myself for not having done it sooner. I know that's not what you were wanting to hear. But I've been down that road.
Check my gallery for all the mods I've done. The new turbo came recently. That probably would have gotten the temps down w/ the Predator but a chip was cheaper. The turbo was bought out of necessity(boom due to daily diet of 32psi).
