"Hitching " problem

Hi all I have an 86 f150 with a 300 motor.I have owned it for about a year now. About 6 months ago it started to hitch when I let off the gas after putting it under a load, ie going up a hill, pulling out into traffic. Sometimes it will hitch just going down the road at a constant speed. It is most noticable when I come off the gas though. I have given it a tune up and changed the fuel filter.I've also run dry gas through it, and the air filter is fine.It runs super at idle. The only time it does it is when it is on the road.I knew the past owner who had it since it was new, and he took awesome care of the truck. Unfortunaly he has passed on so I can't ask him about it.Any one have any thoughts?. I'm banging my head against the wall. There have been many beers trying to figure this out!!. Thanks Ed.

fuel pump? i assume hitching is bucking.. falling on its face? check fuel pressure and volume. '86... carb right? should be easy to check.
