high idle
i have a 03 fx4 with the 4.0
sometimes it gets a bug that won't let it idle
when i let off the gas for a corner the rpm stays between 2000 and 3000
when this first happened i would shut the truck off and it would be gone when i restarted but now that doesn't always work
i have taken it to two dealers and they can't get it to do it
there are no lights illuminating either
has anyone else ever heard of this

My '98 Ranger used to do that. Pull off your "idle air control valve" and shoot some carb cleaner in the ports. They sometimes get sticky when they're dirty. This would cure mine for awhile. Or you could by a new one for about $55 at an auto parts store.
