I had this question posted in the 3.0L forum but no one seemed to have any answers so I thought I'd try it in here and see if my luck changes.
I am about to install a Black Magic electric fan and I had a question about the stock fan post threads. When I remove the fan the threaded post is recessed and not in view, my question is should I put something over the threaded post or just leave it exposed. Not sure if that might rust or cause any problems. I haven't noticed anything said about that particular part in the fan installation posts here and on other ford ranger sites. Please advise and what would be a good cover if needed, not sure about any heat issues on that part. Thanks for any help!
That's a good idea, I am planning on keeping the stock fan and might need to put it back on sometime, just wanted to see about protecting the treads from getting messed up. Didn't know how much heat is involved with that threaded post. Thanks.
