Syn. Oil or not?

I have a 92 7.3L non turbo
I was getting ready to change my oil. I was thinking about a synthetic oil like maxlife by vavoline for veh over 75,000 miles. I have 180,000 miles on mine. Should i stay away form any certain oil on a diesel or does it matter. Does anyone have any rec.

It's a totally personal choice. I can't see the extra money involved saving you anything in the long run. Diesels have been running into the 300K mark with dino oil for years. Why pay $15.00-20.00 more per oil change? Will you ever gain that money back?

I run Mobil Delvac 1300. Very good motor oil for your truck.

I run shell rotella syn 5w-40. Its fairly inexpensive ($13/gal at wallmart). To me the biggest advantage (over 15w-40 dino oil) is the fact that it's thinner when cold. I often do not plug my truck in and it seems to crank over more quickly on cold starts with the 5w-40.
