Alternator wiring

Need some help with the wiring of a 3G alt into my 84 F150 4.9. Off the back of the old alt are 3 wires, 1 black/orange & 1 black that run to the external regulator. And a yellow wire that I believe goes to the Engine Control Module.

I know to run batt. cable over to the batt. or starter solenoid with a mega fuse in line, but what about the other connections on the back of the 3G? It has a built in regulator. And what do I do with the old wires that are still connected at the other end?

Thanks,

Scott

Does the above diagram look like your new alternator? If so, you can find that lightgreen/red wire on the old regulator.

Yeah, I've got it all worked out now, thanks. Haven't had a chance to install it, but know what to do.

Thanks,

Scott
