Distributor Question

I was cleaning a spare distributor I have about. It looks and feels pretty good. How do you tell if a distributor is worn out? It came out of a 74 360, and I plan to use it in a stock 66 352 rebuild. Thanks , JR.

Wiggle the shaft in the middle of it and see if it moves. If it moves alot that means the bearings are shot.

yes or a rebuilt is only 30.00 you should put in a points eliminator kit to replace the points

Thanks for the replies guys! It has very little play, side to side, on the shaft, so in it goes. I have a pertronix set up triggering a Jacobs coil and a mileage master control that will be transferred from the tired engine. Thanks again.JR
