After finishing all the major metal work on the cab, i needed to take a break from body work and start on the chassis.I got the front discs on and 3inch drop axle installed.I also remove a couple of leafs from the front. We'll see how that works.I'm in the process of getting the 57 f100 9inch rear finished.I got it mounted and the pinion angle set and now im working on the C notches.Hopefully i'll get the brakes(Booster and master cylinder and lines) done in the next week or so, then the mustang gas tank. Then i get to do more body work and attemp to paint the truck myself.Ill post more pics this weekend

So when you put the discs on, did you have any trouble with the spindle grease fittings that required you to drill new locations? Which kit did you use?
Wow!
Your truck is coming along really nice. I used those tie rod spacers on my dropped axle for over a year with zero problems. They work alot better than I would have guessed. Keep up the good work, and nice job with the gallery- now only if I can get my pics to upload.
Thanks Earl, If you guys remeber from my original post, i was trying to have the truck on the road by april 1st.Unfortunatley, it's not going to happen but at least i'll be kinda close!Goobzilla, I used the kit from mid fifty. The kit worked pretty good, 3 of the total four grease fittings had to be moved. It wasnt bad, just have a good drill bit. I was a bit worried on how the inner bearing fit on the spacer though. It seems like the bearing only sits on ita 1/4 inch, but if it sat all the way down, then the adjuster nut and cotter pin wouldnt line up, so i guess thats how it works.55forder,Thanks, i feel a little better, but i can just imagine if the top bolt comes loose or falls out!Your truck has been a major inspiration to me.I love the traditional/kustom style you have. Thanks again
Wow. Looks Awesome, Kevin!!!! Keep up the good work. The dropped axle looks slick!!!! Though I too am curious if removing some leafs might put the axle to close to the frame bumper. When you get it put back together with the weight on the front end keep us posted and let us know if you have to add the leafs back in.
way to go kev, I cannot imagine how the overpass incident must have set the project back but it looks like you are recovering nicely. I had to replace a top on a 55 once and we used a 56 skin so we ended up with a slant cab with a front overhang. keep up the good work ff56
