98 Expy Key causing theft alarm

98 Expy Key causing theft alarm
Last night one of my two keys started causing the theft alarm and prevents it from starting. My other key still works. When this happens can the key be recovered/reprogrammed or do I need to buy a new key? From what I've read since I only have one working key I will need to go to the Ford service dept to buy a new key for $80.

I only need one working key to program a new key on my 97. I need two working keys to program a new one in wifes 99. Information on what you need & how to do it is in the owners manual. I know.... REAL MEN don't read... Let your wife do it for you.
