351m or 351w?
i recently changed the timing chain, water pump and harmonic balancer on my 79 ford f250 4X4, and all the parts matched as being for a 351m, but when i changed my oil pump and bought new gaskets for the oil pan, the modified gaskets didn't match up but the windsor gaskets did. i can't find any identification on the engine anywhere. how can i be sure what it is? thanks for the help

The heads are interchangable but not without the use of special intake manifolds on each engine.
Valve cover bolts is the quickest and easiest way to know though, the likelihood of someone using a custom intake to use other heads is almost nonexistent.
