5 spd auto would be sweet

what do u guys think . i had a 02 ranger edge that had the 3.0 and the 5spd auto and that tranny made that truck a blast to drive it kept the rmps up when accelerating and was just a nice tranny wish that ford would make one that could handle the f150's power would also possibly allow some changes in gearing to help with mpg lord knows we all could use some help with this.

also has anyone on here used the synthetic oil in your trucks and seen any improvement as far as mpg and such i know that ford recomends 5w20 but has anyone ran anything else?

I think the auto backing the 5.4 and 6.8 in the Super Duty is a 5-spd auto.

I don't think you are going to see any major changes in mpg between full synthetic and the factory sythetic blend oil of 5W-20

The Lincoln site shows the Navigator having a six speed OD transmission. It should work in a F150 just fine!!

You guys will be green with envy once the 6L 60/70/80 E (who doesn't like 6 speed autos?) Transmissions come out in the new GM trucks. :P

I might be green with envy for the transmission, but not for that flimsy excuse for a truck. Besides, the 6L engine Chevy makes doesn't have enough torque for a full size pickup. That's why they have to use a 6 spd tranny. I'll stick with my 5.4L 3v V8 with 5 spd. auto. I don't want my transmission shifting every 5 mph...
