I own a 1986 Ford E250 with a 351W. I have the opportunity to get a 1979 460 out of an LTD. Will I encounter any problems
putting in an older 460 as opposed to using a later model? My truck is carbureted. Is there a difference between the "car"
motor and the "truck" motor?

If you go the 460 route youll need a diffrent trans because the 351w is a small block and the 460 is a big block you probally need a rear sump pan the ltd may have a rear sump but I think its a front I have seen front sumps in trucks but the oil drains on the cross member youll need a radiator, engine mounts, hoses ect

Hey, I was putting a 400m out of a Lincoln into my 81 250. The smog pump had to be removed and set back to the truck set-up. It was mounted on the bottom and would hit the crossmemeber. The fuel pump had to be replaced with a truck pump as it would hit the crossmemeber also. I know that these are different than your setup but I thought I would give you an idea of what may be involved. Hope it helps?
