Can it idle too long?
I have a 90 7.3 with an E40D. Twice recently I have let the truck warm up and get distracted, and let it run for about 30 minutes or more. Can this in any way affect the transmission shifting? Both times when I started out it didn't shift right or not at all. Both times I let it sit for about an hour before I took it to the shop and it worked ok each time and after that. They seem to be guessing at the trans shop. It seems like it should not matter if it runs too long but I thought I would ask. Also, what is "wetsucking"? Thank you for any help.

That is "wet stacking" when run for a long time at low rpm the cylinder tems lower and the fuel that is unburnt goes into the oil pan.......raising the idle to say 1000rpm+ would help stop wet stacking.
If your trans is not getting good rpm info or speedo info the trans will not work right, do you have original tire size.........

Yes, tires are original size. Trans was rebuilt about two months ago. New processor about a week ago. They say the TPS is ok. But I get a problem once in a while of not shifting right. Some times first gear doesn't shift, once it shifted 1,2,and 3 by 30 mph. It does have lockout. I tried touching the brakes at about 50 while still on the throttle. The rpms came right up. Any ideas?
