Big Dave-check your ground wire on your trailer and at your electrical connector.Don't believe you should need any kind of relay or anything for your trailer lights.I would bet on a ground issue,John

Again-Big dave doesn't seem to be reporting a flasher problem,I'm reading more of a headlight/tailight problem,which normally indicates ground or incorrect connections
But if you read the detail he says the Light holds the emittance the more bulbs he removes from the system.
Why because he is LOWERING the resistance (less bulbs to light up)
More bulbs means More resistance on the circuit causing the lights to flash faster
(Flasher relay breaks & remakes contact sooner)
HD flasher will allow MORE (trailer) bulbs to flash slower & look normal.
