Frame strengths....

Are there any physical differences among the frames (80's models) between the E150 thru the E350?

I could be wrong,
but Im pretty sure the physical differences in the frames between the different E-series models has to do with over-all stiffness and strength. I know that in the newer E-series the differences in the frames are that the E350 main beams are thicker and have a larger cross-sectional area, than say the E150. Now Im guessing back in the 80's, but Im not sure here, that the only differences would have been of the same type, ie. stiffer frame, larger members.
There are quite a few knowledgeable people on this forum, one in particular, SuperCrewDude actually works at the plant where they put the E-series together.

Hope that helps,

Dan

Reason I was asking is because I was thinking of going to 3/4 or 1 ton running gear. My van is almost maxed out, and I was thinking of going this route. The van is already set up with the Ricon lift, and we haul Judy's power chair in it. I want to use it to tow the boat with, and have also considered an engine swap too.
For now, we have to use the truck. It's got plenty of power, but hauling the chair in it is a pain.
