I have a question? Why does all the books Lmc truck, dennis carpenter, Macs and all the others too many to list not sale the window regulators. I need one for my 67 and they don't have them. I have seen the electric kits for like $400.00 but I dont want or can afford anything that high.
Thanks
Keith
I went to a salvage yard and couldn't find a driver side for my '72. But, with a little fabrication, I took what I needed off a regulator for a van and put it on the one I had for my truck and presto, a working regulator. If you want to keep from spending a fortune, you will have to get "creative".
What's wrong with your regulator that you need a new one. My windows would barely move when I first got the truck so I took off the door panel and lubricated anything in there that I thought needed it. I took a can of WD40 and a long hose and sprayed the heck out of things. I used a good amount of it on the spring which was all rusted. I'd spray it and roll the window up and down and repeated those steps many times. Now my windows are smooth as silk. All I need now is the rubber seals that keep the water out.
I'll bet what's wrong with the regulator is after years of use the gear teeth have been grounded down because, perhaps the gear is not exactly straight to begin with, so with each turn the gear teeth are worn down in certain spots. My driver side regulator has this problem, I can roll about 50% and then it won't go up because the gear teeth are micro-teeth and then the last 5% works if I push up the glass and turn the window handle. So, with a little lube - it still won't help.
