The E40D backing my 1994 5.8 F150 has come of age, and let me know it. It didn't get treated very well, and now its exacting revenge. So, with a slew of engine modifications on deck, I would like to make sure the transmission (and the rest of the driveline) will hold up.
My question is whether I would be better saved to have the transmission rebuilt by a local guy (though I don't know anyone around Seattle) or switch it with an aftermarket all-beef tranny. Im not so worried about cost, but Im not going to blow my retirement fund on this either.
