what does it have???
I recently bought a '94 F150 Ext.Cab Flareside. I've been able to figure out most of the options the truck has, but how do I find out all the options it had when it came from the factory?
It didn't have a owners manual or a repair manual with it so I'm out there. I do know it is an XLT model. Has captains chairs, center console, power locks, windows, mirrors. Looks like it might have a day-night rearview mirror, cruise control(no response at the buttons(fuses are good though)) and a am-fm stereo cassette.
What I'm curious about is did those models have a ignition and lights on chime? If so where is it located? cause mine doesn't sound. Also in the left hand instrument cluster (that narrow black band where the idiot lights are I get a red light that blinks "THEFT". Could this truck have come from the factory with an anti theft system? How do I find out? Or could someone have installed an aftermarket alarm/electric start system and hooked it up into the trucks factory system.(there is a sticker in the engine compartment right above the fan that states that the truck is equipped with a valet system and that disconnecting the battery will cause the truck to start.
So what gives? If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

My first suggestion would be to jot down the vin number and do a yahoo search for the VIN decoders, they are out there I just dont happen to remember what the URL's are. You will be able to find out quite a bit that route, not everything mind you, but alot. As far as the alarm is concerned, you can call a dealer and see if it is a dealer installed alarm. If it was not, then I am not sure what the next step would be.
