LAST EDITED ON 20-Jul-01 AT 10:24 PM (EST)[p]I just got an 89' f-150 from my dad and he installed 1-ton springs on the back in place of the stock 1/2-ton springs. Now the rear end of the truck is way up in the air and the front end is alot lower, it looks really bad. What can I do too bring the front end up to match the rear end or at least come close without having the mess with the steering alignment and all that good stuff? Thanks for any help I really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Miles
If I remember right, 2" is all you can go without messing with stearing on a 2wd. Your front coil springs would have to be swapped out for longer springs.
That still might not give the desired look. So after that you might remove one leaf each side. Ofcoarse you will lose some weight hauling ability.
when you got the new leafs on it did your dad keep the blocks between the axil and the leaf. If he did you can take them out. it is realy easy. they will take about about 2 in of life from the rear end. Drives and looks alot better. I did it to mine.
