Hey guys, I have been trying to to fix a problem with my trucks idle (rpm's go up and down about 50-100, even when truck is warmed up) I changed the oil (to shell rotilla 15w-40), changed the CPS, checked the level in the HPOP (which was normal), and disconnected the batteries to reset the PCM. After I did all that, the idle got smoother, but it still goes up and down about 50-100 RPM's at idle. I'm thinking it's one of three things.... 1) the new oil hasn't reached the HPOP yet, (how long does that take to circulate through??) 2) There is a clutch on one of the assesories on the motor that is about to go... or the fan clutch that is causing the engine to slow down when it engauges- disengauges, 3) Just a crappy PCM code... i have a NAW6 box code, not the greatest..... any ideas as to what i should look at next would be great. I'd like to stear away from the HX mod if i can help, i know that something must be off!! Thanks...
My PSD will idle weird sometimes for a few minutes and then go away from time to time. Never give mine much attention as its always went away. Now if yours does this all the time after what you have donbe so far, I guess you have ran some fuel system cleaner though the motor and that you have serviced the fuel filter and cleaned the screen behind the FPR? If so, I would think about going to the Ford house and have them reflash the ECM for you to the latest greatest.
From that I would have to check fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the FPR, and if was mine would shim that up for the 70-75 PSI fuel pressure. I love the HX equalizer line on mine, makes all the sense to me to help even the oil pressure so as all injectors get as even a charge of oil pressure to drive them evenly.
You strill running the cat and muffler? Have chip or tuner? Stock air system?

I have ran PS throught the last 10 fills or so, and have cleaned the FPR screen last week. the fuel filter only has 2000 miles on it. No cat or muffler. No chip, and tymar intake..... i guess i should check the shrader valve, and posibley have the computer reflashed.... thanks
