Ranger vs. 18 wheeler

I am sad to say that my 1987 Ford Ranger supercab 4x4 lost a battle with a 18 wheeler yesterday....... It ran a stop sign and t-boned me. Well my truck is totaled and I am going to have argue with the insurance company because I know the they will not want to pay me what it will cost me to replace my truck. thanks for listening to me vent.

Shouldn't the 18 wheeler's insurance company cover a new vehicle for you? I hope you weren't hurt... that's a bad kind of accident to get into!

The other guys insurance company should pay for it. but the blue book on my truck is'nt much

MOST insurance companies pay the "ACV" which is the Actual Cash Value. I totaled a '92 Honda Accord in '98 that was purchased brand new. Car looked like it just came off the show room floor. Typical pricing at the time was about 8/9k. What did my ex-insurance pay me? Palty $6k. Just prepare yourself for a fall.....
