carburetor problem
I have a 1988 for Ranger in exellant condition. It has a 2.0L engine and I'm having problems with the two barrel Aisan Model Y carburetor. I need to replace the automatic coke spring (has electric assist). I have called several Ford parts departments and they infrom me that they can no longer order the needed part. HELP, I do not want to have to install a manual coke or buy a new carburetor. The coke works fine when the weather is very cold. However, during moderate temperatures, the coke opens up to quickly causing the truck to stall until it warms up. I have drilled out the revits and reset the coke setting all the way to the rich setting, but it still stalls during moderate temperatures. I have also disconnected the electric assist but it does not help....I'm loolking forward to getting my antique tags in 2008 and keep on trucking.
