brake loss warning light ?

I'm having the same problem with my '73 and I checked the valve and it doesn't seem to have any bleeder rod. It has the brass block where the switch goes and the front/rear brake lines go but thats about it.
Is the bleeder rod a later model addition or am I not looking hard enough?
I've got discs in front drums in rear.

I just did some more looking and found I have two brass blocks, one where the front and rear lines go to then another mounted on the frame cross member under the engine. This one splits and feeds the front brakes. It does have a little rod coming out of it and when the brakes and pressed the rod pushed out a little. I had someone press the brakes and I tried to push and pull on the rod but no brake fluid came out so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.
