I frequently gross around 20k-27k, with my truck. This is pulling logs on a gooseneck trailer. When we get to the job site and during off loading I general use 4-lo just because it is easier to travel at slow speeds and doesn't get the tranny as hot.
My question is 2hi-4hi usaully is not a problem, but when I am loaded it does not like to go into 4-lo. Has anybody else experienced this.
BTW it is the electronic shifted t-case.
I hope this is ok here since it pertains to a specific engine/trans combo. I didn't know if the t-case is specific to the 6.0/Torqshift or not.
is the tranny in neutral, at a stop, WITH your foot on the brake? You must meet all three of these parameters for the esof to engage in or out of lo/hi.. I liked to have put a bullet in my dash till i read the manual on this. i have always had manual shift 4x4 which is a bit different that the esof.
I also noticed an occasional delay for the hubs to turn in when they are on auto. You can turn them in manually and this might resolve your problem. Stanphil is exactly right, you must do what he posted also for 4 lo to go in.
While sitting still you put it into 4lo and nothing but when you try to move does it go into 4lo then? Do your front wheels move then 4 lo is engaged, I guess that is what I am asking?
