I would think that most any truck with the FE engine will have a usable pulley. Have you tried any local junkyards?

It might help to say which make of pump you have ?

THis would be better asked in the STEERING related forum.

83SD, The pulley you are looking for is identical for 360's and 390's from 73 up to 75. I'm positive other pulleys will work, but don't know 100% which ones. If you can't find one where you are, private message me and I'll see if there is one near me. From now on when you ask a question, try to make sure to include all relative information. This board is full of people that would love to help, but they can't unless you are specific.
Dennis, His truck should have the big pump that has the small dip stick tube in it. I've had 2 75 model trucks and both were that way.

the guy at the junkyard i went to today said it was a "barrel"type pump. the pulley is about 4 1/2 inches in diamiter. it is the big pump with the small dipstick tube. i viseted another junkyard that claimed they had it today and they didnt have it. god this is getting so frustrating. i have called almost every junkyard around me and none of them have the one i need. i didnt realize there was a steering related forum. i saw this one and i clicked on it this is the only one i have looked at. im used to the mercedes forum where its very limited as to what gets posted where. thank you all for taking the time to read this. ill try to take a pic of the old one so i can give you all a idea of what it looks like.

It sounds like the FORD Plastic pump.

The pulley with 1 (number of grooves) of the right diameter can be found on cars as well.

If you find one you will need a Special pulley remover tool or you will damage the pulley trying to get it off.
They also have a pulley installer but any Hyd. press will work.

So are you asking the junkyards for just the pulley or are you trying to buy the whole pump and then get the pulley off it? If you are just trying to get the pulley, you might have better luck buying the whole pump from the junkyard.

Thumbs up

That old style pump was used on lots of Fords. I was a mechanic back in the 1970's, and there were lots of them.

Please help yourself & aid the users here by posting ALL the information on the Initial Post.

This way is time consuming & annoying to be fed little bits of info at a time.

You see Ford used Ford plastic pumps & Eaton pumps.

Different engines with different options (ie: A/C) got different parts.

Like I mentioned earlier, Those PULLEYS also apply to Ford Cars.

Dennis, There are actualy 3 pumps.
1. A GM looking pressed ham thing that I believe is called a saginaw.
2. The big ford pump that has the plastic resivoure and big filler neck.
3. The big ford pump that has the metal resivoure and small filler neck with a dip stick.
I fully agree with Holmesuser. The pump and pulley application in question was used on a multitude of applications and that paticular pulley should be a dime a dozen. I've had a 240, a 302, a 390, and a 460 all in the same pick up at one point or another and always used the same pump, pulley, and adjustment bracket. The bracket that bolts to the water pump is different for every engine but the adjustment bracket, and pulley have always interchanged for me.
