It is usually stamped into the case. If i was replacing it I would compare the biggest one to what you have and if the cases are the same size I would use it. More amps sometimes equals a larger case. The larger case will not always bolt up to existing brackets. It used to be 75-110 amps = a larger case.

In those years the alt. wiring harness would go bad so it wouldnt hurt to inspect them real good while you are working on it. If they are bad, they are inexpensive and can be found at most auto part stores.
