99 ranger auto trans no reverse

Today I drove to work with no trans problems. I stopped and put truck in reverse to back into a parking space. Heard a pop, truck will not back up. It acts like it is in neutral. Could there be a simple solution or is my transmission probably shot? :-huh

you probably need a new tranny is it a auto or manual

You are looking at $1500 to $1800 dollars Makes me sick when something like this happens

Hows the fluid level and condition?

I would ask around and find a good shop before you have it towed.
