I was surprised how versatile WD-40 is, and how many different applications people have come up with for the product, despite the disclaimer from the makers.
What have you used it for? Leave an idea and then check the link to see if it made it in the top 2000.

Okay, that list could be way shorter! There's about a thousand of 'em that start "Lubricates..." I didn't find it mentioned for machining aluminum, tho'.
Which makes it perfect for deactivating the occasional handload that has an inadvertently split case or an improperly seated bullet.
You make a very good point there. I had a .44 Mag go off when I was pulling it with a buster hammer. Destroyed the hammer and put plastic in my face, but I had safety goggles on.
I learned the hard way that WD40 does not always kill primers. Had a .50 BMG primer detonate after bring soaked with WD. Talk about LOUD! Ears rang for 2 days.
A few years back wd-40 you could use it to start 2 cycle trimmers , because it [ had ] propane in it . The Goverment changed that though ! It now has a lot of H2O in it now . I use PB Blaster it much better than the new & old wd-40 .
I keep a few cans handy in the spring and summer to kill wood bees. It is cheaper than insect killer and the bees are just as dead. I converted a timber frame/tin barn to a shop and the woodbees bore holes in the timber to nest. You can squirt it in the holes and quite often a bee falls out. I have been doing damage to the wood bee population and hopefully they will be gone or at least a reduced population this year.
I also have used it for chasing moisture out of distributor caps. Many people don't know that WD stands for Water Displacement. That is what it was designed for, not lubrication. As a lubricant it is weak at best. As a penetrating oil it is weak at best.
I found it works to clean up an greasy, oily parts with a rag pretty good. I also works good removing stickers or any other "sticky" substance. I have found PB Blaster better and breaking loose rusty parts though.
