Tool for Vacuum
So I have a '02 250 4x4 Diesel and I'm changing the front end ball joints to greasable, since the factory ones were shot. (53K and already gone..I don't even plow with this vehicle!) I get the whole thing apart, and low and behold, when I try to put in the new vacuum seals for the hubs, they need to be pressed. So...does anyone know what tool is needed, (Ford tool part number if you know), and approximate cost or where to order? I already tried making a custom press and ruined 2 vacuum seals, so I got 2 more.

I think "kentstools.com" make's the tool for the auto makers. if you have access to snap-on or mac ect. tools trucks, thay will have what you need. machine shops should be able to install for you if you don't want to pay the price for the tool.good luck

Thanks for the reply. For those interested, I used a piece of PVC with a cap and a brass hammer. The vacuum on these front-ends seem to be nothing but headaches. I have read other people complaining about their 4-wheel not working off and on, and it almost always seems to be vacuum related. There's got to be a better setup than what is being put out.
