Engine will not turn over....

I have a 92 F150, 5 speed inline 6, and it was running fine, then all of a sudden, it would not start. The engine would not even crank, only a few clicks at the solenoid, so I naturally suspected the solenoid. I could jump the solenoid and it would start, but I was not sure that even a bad solenoid would do that so I replaced it anyways, only 10 dollars at Autozone, but that was not the problem, so now I have a spare. Next I checked the battery and wires, they were fine. Now I was stumped, no ideas on what it could be. Then I got a phone call from my father in law, who I called earlier because he used to have a 90's F150, and he solved my probelm. If you follow the clutch pedal up, it is connected to a bar that goes accross to directly above the gas pedal. The bar is connected to a small rod, about a 1/2 inch thick, 4 or 5 inches long, that goes through the fire wall. The small rod has a hole in the end with a white plastic clip through the hole that then clips onto the bar. This clip is known as a "bushing", this is the actual ford part. The plastic bushing was cracked so it was not holding tight onto the nipple coming off of the bar. When the clutch was being depressed it was not registering because the clip was bad, weak link. I replaced the bushing and it started no problem. A Ford manual greatly helps by the picture in the clutch chapter, look for the figure that shows the pedal then shows a break down of little parts, the little rod and the "bushing". I hope this helps another stumpped sole.
