The standard adhesive type will come off with a heat gun or hair dryer . Not too hot though then the remaining adhesive will wash off with a good household cleaner .
I solved this problem when purchasing my F150 new by telling the dealer I did not want any advertizing on my truck unless we were going to renegotiate the purchase price .
Heat the label up with the heat gun (as stated above) or using a hair dryer.
Another way is to spray the label with WD-40. Do this a couple of times. The WD breaks down the adhesive. It takes off bumper stickers, too!
Spray the WD . . let it do it's thing. Spray some more, then put a fingernail under the edge of the label and pick it up.
I can't say that the razorblade suggested above, is a good idea. Not for me. Fat fingers. I'd mess it up.
Once the label is off, spray some more WD 40 on the remaining adhesive. It'll break it down, too. Spray some on a cotton cloth and wipe easily on the area.
You might have to turn the cloth several times to get it all.
Then wash the area / dry / then wax it.
I normally wont allow dealer stickers on the vehicles I buy but it was part of the price and "extra's" they threw in...Since the time of our deal has ran out, it comes off
I bought a 1976 Chevy Nova 'new' in Dec. '75.
The dealer used to drill two small holes in the trunk of cars and put his nameplate emblem on there.
I told them that IF the nameplate was on the car that I ordered (when I came to pick it up), either the deal is OFF and they would have to refund my $3,000 deposit, or, they could pay me $300.00 per MONTH to advertise for them.
(The car payment was less than $100.00 per month.)
There was NO emblem on my car when I went to pick it up!!!
they usually come off pretty easy with just your fingernail. if not apply heat. do not use a razor blade under any circumstance. to much could go wrong there. after you get the sticker off, apply a little wd 40 to loosen up the adhesive than wash.
