What year? On the 97-03s and especially the 99-03s(due to more power) the consensus is that you can live with it. But depending on it's use, the tranny might not be able to.
Basicly with 35s you'd want 4.10:1 gears to put everything pretty much back to stock. For 3.55:1, I'd recommend 33 inches and lower.
b.o.w., there was a racent thread in the Bronco forum that you should read about. I'm running 35's with the stock 3.50 ratio, and feel like it's still O.K. With your 4.9L and E4OD and being a 2WD, you may be really underpowered with 35's, along with putting alot olf strain on that expensive tranny. I would suggest you regear to 4.56:1 with your driveline, and put a L/S or locker in the rear. A 2WD setup that way can go to 99.9% of the places a 4wd can go.
I have 3.50's in my 1986 Bronco - I run 33" Swampers and don't have much of a problem... granted I only drive the truck off road.. so I guess it doesn't matter cause when I need to I just go into 4 low...
I know that when I swap in my D60 front, initially I am keeping the 3.54 gears it has. I will get a Klune-V before I drop big cash on gear swaps!
