Angry 03 Oil Problem

I had my 03 at the dealer for new breaks at 50000mi. Needed new rotors and pads. Ford breaks realy suck. Also had them change the oil while it was there. I have been having a hesitation and hard starting problem like many of you have had, for 15000 miles or so. Today I was checking some of the vacuum lines that I had seen be a problem for some of you in another thread, when i noticed oil had been leaking from around the right valve cover and down the side of the engine. Not bad enough to leave a puddle just enough to dirty up the motor. I pulled the dip stick out to see if the oil was low and to my surprise it was 3 inches above the full mark. This had happened once before at another dealership around 30000mi. I drained four yes (4) quarts of oil off the motor to get the level between the marks. I also noticed that the fram oil filter I had installed at 45000mi was still on the motor. Ford will get a piece of my mind tomorrow.
My question to the group is what kind of problems has this caused and could it contribute to my dropping fuel milage, hesitation, and hard starting problem I have been experiancing.

Thanks for any help

Overfilling the crankcase can leakage, oil foaming, reduced power/fuel mileage, and emissions problems, plus I'm sure many more. Always run the correct oil level. Sounds like they forgot to drain the old oil before putting in the new oil.
