Chip and/or Tuner

I have a 1999 F250 460 Fuel Injected, Automatic with overdrive and a 4.10 limited slip diff. I would like to purchase a performance chip or tuner to improve the overall performance of this unit. I don't know what is best. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Neither is best. Tuners are more expensive and you get more features. Chips can take a custom tune. Though there are other differences, those two are pretty much what it boils down to.

If you just want to plug it in and go, a chip is what you want. A tuner will give you some adjustability in programming, but max perfromance gains are pretty much the same. Have you checked out Motorhaven.com. If not click on PARTS SHOP" in the upper right corner of the screen to take you there. The chips and tuners are explained pretty well there, and should be able to help you decide what you want/ need out of it.
