Time for me to come up with my newest summer project. This year, if I can find the info, I would love to swap an american smallblock into the 300D. I have seen a couple of them, but I havent found much info on the swap itself. Any comments would be appiricated. web page links are even better.lol
thinking the same thing I got one that won't run... first thought of a 350 na been done... then a 302 na... finally a turbo 2300 from a t-bird now there is a new ideal.
The diesel is goin, ans I would love to have a nice sleeper. I was thinkin take the 302 outa a mid 80's to 90's stang and swap the engine/tranny in. I just need to know if anyone has done anything of the sort. I guess I could go with the same from a camaro/firebird from the same vintage
Car and Driver had an article about 4 years ago about a guy selling kits to install the 5.0 engine and trans from a Mustang into Volvo's. The Ford is the better bet, smaller and lighter. Of course, if your bucks up, you can get one of those 427 small block Chevalays, if you must.
You are going to be on your own here for most of it. Find a crashed or rolling total Mustang, rebuild the engine and AOD, and swap everthing you need.
Know an A/C guy? A hose guy? You can probably adapt the MB systems for A/C and PS to the Ford pumps.
