Reverse in all gears?

Hello everyone. I will start from the beginning, I bought a 1981 Bronco with a 351M and a C6. The truck would not physically go into drive/2nd/1st so I dropped the pan and discovered that the intermediate band adjustment bolt had fallen out and the band came loose and was getting in the way of the linkage. So after dropping the valve body out of the transmission I replaced the bolt (I torqued it to 10ftlbs and backed it off 1.5 turns), I then bolted the valve body back in place and put in a new filter and bolted the pan back on. After filling the transmission back up and letting the truck warm up when I put the truck in Reverse/Drive/2nd/1st the truck only goes in reverse it has no forward gears . So after all that my question to all of you is what would possibly cause this? I thank you all for taking the time to read this and look forward to any suggestions you may have.

Talking Ok

Did you get the manual valve hooked into the lever properly?
