Guys,
Several of us have talked about painting our surrounds. From all my research everyone has said that 97-03 F150's all have the same surround......WRONG.
Ken had the extra surround I had painted for his truck. Went to Safelite auto glass to have it installed. The guy tore every thing out and tried to install the new surround and it didn't fit. The bolts would not line up.
So there is a change somewhere in the years. Ken's going to get the part number off of the surround so we can call a dealer and find out the year/years it fits.
Ken's going to try and sell that surround to the proper owner. It's already been painted Red(E4) but even if the color doesn't match your truck the hard parts been done. It's been smoothed, primered and painted so all a body shop would have to do is rough up the paint and shoot the new color.
