My kids gave me a leatherman PST for father's day maybe 12 years ago, I use it almost everyday (at work or home). When I was in Portland, I dropped in at the factory to see if they could tighten up a loose handle. They said I could have a replacement right away or they would repair mine in two days. Great customer service!! ...Terry
ps. They even sharpened the blade while they had it in for repair.

Used a Leatherman Supertool everyday for 6 years as aheavy equipment mechanic and it never failed me. Much harder to loose than a pocket knife. 100 times more versitle.

leatherman super tool and a 4" channel lock crescent (opens to 9/16") in a holster with a mini mag that's been converted to leds. i do appliance work and use it every day, has always performed outstandingly. great warranty too. sure was sad to see them do away with original super tool.

I'm on my second Gerber in 12 years - feel naked without one. I agree with some previous posters that the nylon holster isn't too durable. My first Gerber holster is fine, but the latest one wore out in 2 years. I've got a Schrade OldTimer holster from a company safety award that works just fine and seems lots more durable. If they ever came out with a Gerber Multi-tool with a toothpick, maybe I'd stop carrying a Swiss Army knife too.

I have a std leatherman, love it, carry it everywhere, have for years..
ckal704, I am a teacher as well, your story was awesome.. The school where I work has a zero tollerance for knives rule, so technically I can not carry it to work at all..

I have a Leatherman MICRA that is on my key chain.
It folds up pretty small but is strong enough to handle most of my day-to-day needs.
If I need more, I get out the real tools.

LEATHERMAN MICRA

I've had it for about 7 years or so (maybe more or less). Best pocket tool ever. Ever. Ever. I've owned Gerbers and Swiss Army Knifes and cheap knockoffs and everything. Nothing compares to the solid feel and durability of a Leatherman! After all these years my Leatherman is still tight and sharp. Other multi-tools loosen up at the joints in no time (in my experience).

I'd love to buy another as backup for future use (20 years down the road!).

I saw the new line-up of Micra's at Bass Pro Shops a few weeks ago, and I got the one with the Pliers rather than the Scissors since my original Micra has Scissors. I now carry both!

I use mine every day, so for me it's well worth it. It defenately works a lot better w/ the locking pliers.Plus don't forget, they warrant it for 25 yrs. I don't know if the others do.
