I am problems with my '88 F-150 302 running in the mornings. When i start the truck after it has sat all night, it rev's up to about 1500 rpm's then drops quickly. Occasnionally the truck will stall, but most of the time it almost stalls, then rev's back up to about 1200 rpm's for about a minute. It used to only do it occasionally, but now it deos it all teh time. It is really getting annoying, but i have no idea what the problem is. Someone please help.
Also, i recently put a K&N performance intake on teh truck, and the breather from teh valve cover that runs into the bottom of the filter dumps oil everywhere. I go through a quart of oil about every 2 weeks. This will start to get expensive if i dont find a way to fix it. Any ideas?
Thanx,

Check to see of the Air Bypass Valve isnt carboned up . Once those things get dirty they cause all kinds of idling problems . Oil in the air filter box is usually a sign of either a Pcv problem or the rings are allowing a lot of oil past them & it ends up in the air filter housing .
Try cleaning the butterfly area in the throttle body and the IAC valve area. Basically take the throttle body apart and clean it out, it will get gummed up and the IAC valve will not control the idle correctly.
