Question Electrical Problem?

i have a 89 f150 if im driving and have my lights on then turn on heater fan my dash lights dim as well im having problems keeping my battery charged. is this my alternator. i just put a newer battery in it. any help would be appreciated

I had trouble keeping my 91 battery charged as well. It was in the heater blower connection. See if the blower runs after you have shut the truck off. If it does, this is what drained my battery.

If you blower motor switch checks out OK, have your alternator tested. Most parts stores will do it free of charge.

Disconnect battery s-l-o-w charge it.While it is charging you can clean your battery cables-both ends,and check your grounds.Now-using a volt meter see what your battery voltage is-Now start it and check voltage again.If that doesn't do it,you can now remove alternator and have checked.
