EGR Pipe Threads. Clockwise/CounterClock?

Ok, I've searched on EGR valve and read that some people have turned counterclockwise to remove them, but some have turned them clockwise?? I've been turning mine counterclock facing it from the front. (righty tighty, lefty loosy).

Any Input? I got a torch to heat it up, but I dont want to be turning it the wrong way.

You've got it! A bunch of WD40 on there helps a lot.

Hmmm , on my truck I have to turn clockwise to remove the nut securing the EGR tube to the EGR valve, in my case it was righty loosey lefty tightey. I've had mine broken loose several times so I know this is right, no pun intended

Hmmm... I can see how it can be a clockwise thread. Guess I can try both ways . I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Probably will be clockwise....seeing as how it didn't even budge with this method:

-Pb blaster soaking.
-Hooked a pipe wrench on the nut.
-Got 12awg wire and tied one end to the wrench, one end to a pole (....)
-Backed up the truck!!!

Nothing! No turn. Im surprised the tube didn't break off....lol, im crazy for doing that .

Go look at a new one at a parts store before you break yours.

Is the nut part of the EGR valve or part of the tube?
