MBRP Exhaust

Hye everyone I was loking for an exhaust system for my 04 SD. I was looking at the motor haven website and I liked the MBRP exhaust. I was looking at the cat back system as not to avoid any warranties. My question is this a good exhaust system, is it loud (I dont want a loud truck), is the installation easy and is there anyohter system that I shoul look at. I am just looking for alittle performance and a nice exhaust note for everyone to hear as they are sucking on some diesel in traffic. Any help is appriciated. Oh yeah I dont have anyother performance mods at this time other than a boost gauge, pyro guage and a trans temp guage. One last question what is the vest fuel additive, I am not looking for a centane additive I am just looking for a good fuel additive. I am using the Amsoil diesel additive at every fill up.

Thanks for the help.

I'm also looking at the MBRP cause it is pretty cheap and available in the cat back. I am also looking at Banks but i am still not sure whether they have cat backs available. From what i've read on here though, it seems both are fairly quiet exhausts.

I have the MBRP Turbo back, and the installation was easy, with the exception of the hitch dilemna with the dual exhaust set up. Unless you want to pay extra the aluminized should be fine, unless your in "salty" states, I went with stainless. If you like quiet, the MBRP is just right, can't really tell a difference over stock.

I got to hear an MBRP system yesterday. It was on a late 7.3 without cat. So basically a straight pipe, because that muffler isn't much. It was the four inch with 5 inch tip. At idle, I could hear his turbo spinning from about a hundred yards. Basically I could tell there was a modified diesel in the parking lot. Once I found him, we talked briefly. I asked him to romp on it when he got on the rural road. Again about a hundred yards from me. Sounded nice. Much the same as any gasser with large tube exhaust. On and off the throttle, it was deffinately a diesel sound. I don't know about resonance in the cab, but from the outside, it sounded nice. -Comparative, Think "three" chamber Flow Masters on a healthy small block. Not a set of Cherry bombs. But not a set of quiet turbo mufflers.

Just installed my 4" turboback stainless system. In the cab its not any louder than stock. I woul compare it to a dynomax on a gas motor. Turbo whistle is noticeably louder, but I like it. Outside the truck you can hear a slight rumble when takeing off beffore the turbo spools. I am still running with the cat on, for now.
