Dash Cover Removal

The dash pad in my '72 f-100 is terribly thrashed. I would really like to remove it and go with the all metal look. How do I do this? I see no screws on the outside. Is it just like glued on or are there screws coming from the backside? Any advice is appreciated.

I think you have to romove the glove box and instument cluster...then you can get at the screws that are under the dash. See also a resent thread call "No Dash Pad Look".

yes you do have to take off the instrument panel and the glove box it would also help to take off the radio if you would like

I removed my dash pad yesterday, very easy once I took out the radio, glove box and gauge cluster.

As has been said, you just have to remove the attaching nuts. Here's some photos of when I took mine off. Just click on the "Dash Pad" button. If you click on the small photos they will enlarge. There are a couple of nuts on the ends that are hard to see and make sure you pull the pad out carefully or you'll scratch your nice shiny metal dash. When you get all the nuts off, pop the edge by the windshield up then pull it toward you. Good luck and post photos.
