Question 4 Link Difference?

I'm looking into 4 links and I don't understang the difference between a ladder bar and a regular adjustable 4 link. Do I even need adjustable? I have a 1991 F150 and I'm gonna put about 425 horses to the wheels and I want it to control the approximate 550 ft lbs of torque. What would be the best kind of kit for my application?

4 link is usually, but not limited to, a type of suspension. If your looking for a traction aid, ladder bars are great and will work with your existing leaf sprung rear suspension. They eliminate axle wrap, to the point where the axle will loose alot of articulation. In a street/strip application, this is not even a concern. If you need the flexibility and movement a 4 link (and variations of such) is key, but there is alot more to 4 links than just 4 tubes hooked up to your frame and axle.

If you want to run a traction bar that won't affect your articulation look up a user by the name of Proeliator. He sells a design that has zero impact on articulation but prevents axle wrap. He's running over 600 horse and 18" lift with his truck and these bars work great. I just built a set for myself.

4-link works great but tends to be complicated and can be VERY expensive.
